ABOUT THE VILLAGE
The Village of Wauwatosa’s mission is to foster growth and opportunity through communication, marketing, collaboration, and re-investment, so that the Village is a vibrant and engaging place to live, work, and play. We promote and cultivate the unique image of the Village and provide a link between service, industry, retail and social activities within the Village.
The Village of Wauwatosa is a Business Improvement District (BID)—a special assessment district where property owners and businesses pay an extra fee to fund local improvements and services. The BID consists of an on-staff Executive Director and Marketing /Communications Manager as well as business owners, residents and city officials who volunteer time and energy in the interest of improving the Village in Wauwatosa for business owners, residents and visitors alike.
The BID’s Mission:
Our mission is to foster growth and opportunity in the Village of Wauwatosa through communication, marketing, collaboration, and re-investment, so that it is a vibrant and engaging place to live, work, and play.
The BID focuses on:
Maintenance of the district via landscaping and streetscape elements (litter cans, benches, bike racks, etc.)
Attracting additional business investment within the BID boundaries.
Enhancing and protecting property values in the Village area
Making the Village a desirable and pleasant environment for business owners, Wauwatosa residents, and visitors (by working to ensure parking is available, the streets are clean, and the Village is a safe place for everyone).
Organizing community events that attract residents and visitors to the area and showcase our businesses. These events include TosaFest, HartFest, Holidays In the Village, and more.
